There was a time a few months ago, that I was at a mall and saw a little kiosk set up by a really neat looking photographer. I mean the pictures were neat looking, not the photographer himself. My mind isn't quite awake enough to make coherent sentences at the moment. Anyway, I fell in love with this style in about a half of a second. It was refreshing and funky and sassy, and NOT catered to only cute little baby girls in frilly tutus. Because yes, tutus are cute, but when you have 3 very boyish boys, tutus won't do. We need fun. We need a little bit of edginess. We need a photographer with a sense of humor and a wholelotta patience.
So after seeing this set up at the mall, I never did get the chance to go back and see who they were and what it was all about, and all that good stuff. Then one day I was going through my emails and came across the steal of the day from the Star Tribune... and there was a $500.00 session for sale for $50.00. I looked up the website of the name listed in the ad, and guess what? It was the same place!. The same fun, edgy, sassy, funky, groovy, (did I just say GROOVY??)... not just for little girls photography studio. It was time for my own little happy dance.
We had our session last night and it was everything I had hoped for. Maybe even more than I hoped for. It was a little worrisome for me, becuase the boys spent the night at Grandma's the night before, and Jake told me they were a little crabby for her that morning. Andy was mad and didn't want pictures taken, blah blah blah. When we picked them up though, they were happy, giggling and squeaky clean. Thank you Grandma Kathy! You worked your magic, and we appreciate it!!
After telling the boys that this isn't going to be a boring, sit here, do this, smile, now DON"T MOVE.... kind of picture taking, they were a little relived. And you know you are going to have a great photo session when you walk in and they are cheerful, happy, and offer the kids juice boxes, and a beer for dad (who chose a Coke instead) and wine for Mommy (Who GLADLY accepted!). Pass up wine?? Psshhyeeah.Uh, no way!
Enough rambling now. It was great. And as I promised the boys, there was not one "Say cheese" the entire session. I cannot wait until we get to view them Thursday!!
