This is the craziest things have been for a long time! I only have a couple more weeks left before my hysterectomy. I have so much to do...lists are great! I would be getting nothing done if it weren't for my lists :) So that is why all of the school shopping is done, supplies, clothes, and all! I would rather get everything done a head of time, than be hunched up walking through Target to hurry and do last minute shopping! Not to mention planning a birthday party with Andy's little buddies from school and a different one (Twins themed, of course!) for the fam! Then gotta get all the other stuff done...like making some food up to stick in the freezer for the first week afterward, and a million other things on the list! It's pure craziness man!!! I have had so many people...even ones I don't know that well, offer to help out. I always say thanks- but would feel so weird EVER taking them up on it so I wont...but it really makes me realize that there are amazing people in my life who are not self absorbed jerks. It's nice to know! lol!!!
I want to pack so much in- it's just not all going to happen. I would love to get back up-north once more, but maybe we can do that in September?? :) The colors would be awesome then! Tomorrow night we are going to the Twins game (after mommy gets a facial in the morning!!). I figure I can do one more thing to relax before all heck breaks loose! We went to the county fair the other day...the boys did the bungee trampoline! They were so cute!! They wanted to do a flip, but when it came down to it, they either couldn't flip it or they chickened out. Tonight we went to the Taste of Shakopee. I saw so many people I knew. That is the thing with this town- if you go somewhere, you will see someone you know. Whether it is Target or Kohls, or the park...you are gonna see someone you know. Not good on unshowered days where you just want to be stealthy and not be seen. Not in Shako baby! We also have to squeeze in a trip to Valleyfair for a company pic-nic! It's going to be a busy busy two weeks, but that's good, so my mind doesn't drive me crazy with"what if's" and crappy thoughts!
Oh yeah...speaking of the company pic-nic. Jake's company is laying off 400 people during the week he is off after my surgery! How crazy is that?? Scary as hell, but let's look on the positive side. #1. He won't get laid off and will have a year or two to find a new job. (The plant is probably sending it's jobs to Michigan). OR #2. He WILL get laid off, get severance pay and find a job in the south metro that starts within a couple of weeks after his lay off. (Extra $$ from severance, and an extra week of help for mommy!) Secretly, or not so secretly, I am hoping for #2!! The only draw back to #2 is that the immediate people he works with are amazing and irreplaceable.
On top of the other stress, we have lost the last 6 months of pictures on our hard drive after it crashed. The other months were backed up to CD, but we didn't get to do the last big group before it crashed. It was stupidity on our end that we lost them...so I can't complain too much, but it is still devestating. We sent the drive off to a data recovery company in IL. They said it had crashed beyond their technology to fix it, so they sent it to a research company..who emailed us and said that they have an 85-100% chance of recovery. Great, except it is over 3 times the initial price!!! But, if they can do it, I NEED those pictures back. There is Ryan's 2nd birthday, Justin's 4th b-day, the last day of school for the boys- (I was there for it- so these are irreplaceable!!) I promised that if we spent the money to get them back, I would stay out of Archiver's for 6 months and use the things I have, to scrapbook the pictures I have. This is going to be waaaay tougher than it sounds. I am an addict, and it ain't pretty. ;)
And other than the days where the kids drive me to wanting to be a working mom, they are melting my heart too. Justin has given me the nic-name, "Pretty" or "Princess". He will walk into the room and say, "Hey Pretty!" or some variation of it!! :) Totally a ladies man!!
Ryan sings his ABC's, counts to 13, knows about 6 colors, and also sings Twinkle Twinkle, and the Itsy Bitsy Spider :) Today he told me, "Mommy, put down the wii, and talk a me!!!" Yesterday he told my Grandma while SHE was holding HIM, "ooohhhhhh, Gama. You heavy!" I was almost on the ground laughing!
Andy now has a filter on his mouth, so he knows what he should say... which makes it hard for me to write down the cute little goofy things he says...but I caught one that he let slip the other day!! He was eating pea pods out of the garden and he started rubbing his belly. He looked at me and said "Whoa. I am full! Those peas are already starting to Digestigate!" I held back laughing because he would have gotten mad at me for doing that, but it was so hard to do!! I will miss him when he is back at school full time again!!!
Well, this is long enough. Hopefully soon, I can get on here with some pictures...new ones, and hopefully the ones that were "lost" on the hard drive too!
