Could you, would you, click and vote?
I warned her that I cry when pictures are set to music of any kind, so imagine when it was BEAUTIFUL pictures of my own family up there. They had a box of Kleenex in there, so I know I am not alone in that sappy trait!
I wish we could have bought the 2 big collections we built up. Totally breath taking... but not in our budget at the moment. I am hoping to be able to go back within the year (They save the images that long) and buy one of them after saving up money for it. We did buy a picture of each of the boys, and a cutesy one of me and Jake though.
They have a contest going on for the kids right now... so we entered it. Why not-- if for some reason we won, and were able to get a great big picture of the boys to hang on our walls, I would probably cry some more, and adore anyone who helped us get to that point! Talk about forever grateful!! So would you please, please take a second to go to this contest page , and vote for one of the 3 cutie pies in the white t-shirts... Andy L., Justin L., or Ryan L.... Pretty pretty please??
It will ask for your postal code (zip code) and your email address. Don't be scared away- you just click the boxes not to receive emails or contacts or anything. You can vote 1 time per IP address... so feel free to vote from your phone, lap top, computer, I Pad, I pod, or whatever it is that you use! And golly, I would really love it if you'd be so kind to pass it along to your family and friends to vote as well.
And don't forget, I would vote for you in a heart beat! And if you have done one of these in the past, chances are high that if you let us know to vote, I sure as heck did!! :)
Now go vote... because you would click and vote. You can do it in the car, you can do it in the van. In the office, in the sand. You can vote here or there...you can vote anywhere. :)

Juice boxes, beer, wine... no cheese.
So after seeing this set up at the mall, I never did get the chance to go back and see who they were and what it was all about, and all that good stuff. Then one day I was going through my emails and came across the steal of the day from the Star Tribune... and there was a $500.00 session for sale for $50.00. I looked up the website of the name listed in the ad, and guess what? It was the same place!. The same fun, edgy, sassy, funky, groovy, (did I just say GROOVY??)... not just for little girls photography studio. It was time for my own little happy dance.
We had our session last night and it was everything I had hoped for. Maybe even more than I hoped for. It was a little worrisome for me, becuase the boys spent the night at Grandma's the night before, and Jake told me they were a little crabby for her that morning. Andy was mad and didn't want pictures taken, blah blah blah. When we picked them up though, they were happy, giggling and squeaky clean. Thank you Grandma Kathy! You worked your magic, and we appreciate it!!
After telling the boys that this isn't going to be a boring, sit here, do this, smile, now DON"T MOVE.... kind of picture taking, they were a little relived. And you know you are going to have a great photo session when you walk in and they are cheerful, happy, and offer the kids juice boxes, and a beer for dad (who chose a Coke instead) and wine for Mommy (Who GLADLY accepted!). Pass up wine?? Psshhyeeah.Uh, no way!
Enough rambling now. It was great. And as I promised the boys, there was not one "Say cheese" the entire session. I cannot wait until we get to view them Thursday!!

Now that is frustrating
We are still trying to deal with Justin and this cough he gets every year. He gets it and it doesn't go away. He has had a cough all the way through summer before... and it started in the fall.
So like good parents, we bring him to the doctor to try and figure out WHAT it is. Before we lived where we live now, we were told it was a sinus infection. Since then, we've been told a various amount of different things that are making him cough: Walking pneumonia. More sinus infections. A virus. An allergy to maple trees. He just needs to blow his nose more often, instead of sucking it back up into his brains. He's just prone to having a lingering cough.
So this year, when he started coughing up stuff that I won't go into detail about, I brought him back in. Walked out with a case of Walking pneumonia. His cough lingered... so I brought him back in. This time it was the beginning of a new virus, or something like that.
We have never been given a real diagnosis of WHY he coughs like this. The closest thing to any testing has been an allergy blood test. (That's when we found out he was allergic to maple trees). So after that, he has continued to cough. Then a few weeks into this latest saga, add random vomiting for a couple of weeks. It wasn't the flu. It was nothing like that. Brought him in again... left with a nose mist spray, but no explanation. How do I explain that to a kindergartner who is excited to tell me that, "Mom, I only threw-up once at school today!"
Any way, it seemed to help, but now the cough is back, so we just called in and got a refill for the nose spray, along with instructions to use the nebulizer again. Oh- and by the way, he WAS diagnosed with asthma back in 2009. ?!?!??!!*%()#*$()#.... that would have been nice to know TWO AND A HALF freaking years ago. What. the. hell. ???? Well, guess what? The neb. medicine had expired, so I called to get a refill of that now, too. What did I get??
Attitude. He needs to be seen if you think he is needing that again. He needs to be seen every 6 months for a med check. Well... La Ti Da. This is a whole lot of information that would have been better had I KNOWN he had asthma. And why would they have told us to use it again as of yesterday, but today when I need to get new stuff that isn't expired, do they give me attitude and make us spend more money to go in...again... for a med check on medicine he hasn't been taking??? ARRRRGGGGHHHHHH. How can one day, someone on the nurseline is helpful and friendly, and the next day they are contradicting the day before and are snarky and short with you?
I am beyond frustrated. All I want is to know WHY and WHAT exactly is causing his cough. Without the confusion and mis-communications. Maybe an x-ray of his lungs, maybe something better than a guess. Something... you know, scientific??? You just don't mess around and blow off a little kid with a chronic cough. Right? Or do you? I sure don't. I think that maybe, I will be trying to find a second opinion really really soon... you know, so our little *almost* 6 year old can go one whole day without coughing.

That wasn't so tough
Speaking of pictures... I am finally getting my random pictures organized down in my lab! (Most people would call it a scrapbook room, but not me.) I have had piles of pictures that I haven't known what to do with for some reason or another. Mostly, they are pictures from other people of dates that I have already scrapbooked, or they are family pictures of them, or their kids' school pictures etc. Then there are the pictures that we have had taken of our kids at random professional places since they were born... what do you do with those when you need to take them out of the frame to update to a newer picture?
I am also going through the hundreds (or thousands actually) of picture files I have from the past 10 years or so, and am FINALLY going to make a disc for the people who I have told, "Oh, I will take that picture for you and just email it to you!" Poor chaps have been waiting quite a while, eh? Hopefully no one has been holding their breath!
Here's to catching up on something totally unnecessary, but totally worth the time spent on it!

Fresh start
So we will see. I think I like it better so far. I just liked Vox and how it was easy to see when people updated their blogs. Maybe this site does it too... I have lot's to learn about it. Change is never easy.
Here's to gettin' to know you, Blogger!

Major fun, meet Major guilt. Howdy do?
Guess what? I am doing this. I really really am. I can't believe it since I said I would NEVER ever ever never never do this...but I am. I am doing it. It will be fun. It is needed. It is long over due! The last time I did this, Jake and I weren't even MARRIED yet!!! Ack!
Do you know what that means? It has been over 10 years since I have done this. But OH MY GAWD do I have a raging case of GUILT for it! How dare I?
Coming up in the near future, I am getting my big rump on an airplane with my good ol' pal, Daphne, and we are flying to Michigan to see our other good ol' pal, Sadie! I will be gone from my family...my sweet sweet hubby and my little honey bear boys for 4 nights and 5 days. I am going to fly. I'm flying. Pardon me for a second.... (&**@&$....&*^!!!%....(*(&&^$&$*@&!^$@&*$^@&*$^@&!). I don't know if I am ok with the whole idea. I am not. Nope. I am going to do it, but I think I am going to be a basket case... until I get back home and wish I wouldn't have worried and obsessed over it. But that is how I am.
But to go see my girls and have a little R&R... I will sacrifice. :) I have images of the 3 of us getting pedicures together and having a glass of wine while we sit there... just like their web site shows. Boy do they know their way into a girls heart. A little pampering, great friends, and wine. CURSE YOU beautiful Michigan spa.
But it will be ok. The plane will land gracefully and we will get off of the plane in one piece...(right?). I am looking forward to it so much!! I just need to tell my over paranoid mind to CALM DOWN. Calm down in there...you hear??
