Since I haven't been posting on here all that much, and I have finally downloaded all of the pictures I have taken since the Day after Thanksgiving, I will do this blog photo style ;) So here we go...
November 28th: We put up the tree. The kids had more fun playing in the box than decorating the tree :)
This was our tree. It turned out so pretty this year. I think it was all the special ornaments the kids have made for it in school!!!
Next comes the making of the gingerbread house. They were excited about it being a house this year, since last year we made the gingerbread train...
Then on November 30th, it was off to Grandma Kathy's for a late Thanksgiving with the cousins :)
After that there was the visit from St. Nick... which they were So excited about!
Then I had to get a picture of my own present... A beautiful boquet of flowers from my sweetie for no reason whatsoever...hand delivered by the cutest 21 month old on earth...
Oh whats next...the Christmas picture that just would'nt be :) These are all outtakes, but they are still us- and thats all that matters :)
On December 17th, it was Jakes 31st birthday, so me and the boys had some birthday treats set up for Daddy when he got home from work that day...
After that, we decided it was getting close to Christmas, so we made our first batch of cookies...Applesauce Gingerbread cookies...
We bought some tickets to go on the Polar Express train. It was bad weather and a scary drive, but a day we won't soon forget! Lot's of fun and worth the drive :)
The day after the train ride, we mozied on down to Montgomery for a birthday party. On our way home, I saw a really cool reflection of the sun in the sky from the little ice crystals in the air. Not too sure on the technical term for this- but it was PRETTY!
Then the next big event for the Christmas season was Justin's very first EVER program at school. He walked in confidently, but once he saw everyone watching- he froze. He looked petrified and I thought he was going to cry. Poor baby. It ws adorable even through the fear though :)
Later on that same day, which was the day before Christmas Eve...so I guess I can say Christmas Eve Eve, Lynn and Haylee came over for some extremely strict and tidy cookie making. Ahhhh... I don't have anyone on earth that I can relate to the way I do my little sister!! What a blast we always have together. I hit the jackpot when it came to sisters!!
On Christmas Eve, I made a minty cake roll to bring to Lisa's and had to take a picture of it because it was the first one I have ever made. When we got home, the boys put out their cookies and milk for Santa, and gave eachother a nice hug to prove what good boys they have been all year.
In the morning, it was clear that Santa had made his appearance, even though none of us saw him this year either. Although he did show up at Lisa's on Christmas Eve, which I thought was very nice of him! We all know how busy he is that day delivering presents and all. I love the excitment in thier faces. That is what Christmas magic is all about :)
After that we headed over to my Mom and Dad's and then to my Grandma's house for the rest of the night. That is always so much fun. It takes me back to being a little kid and now seeing our own kids creating the same (sort of) memories too. It is magical there :)
On December 27th, we headed over to Grandma Kathy's again, this time for Christmas. If there ever was a real life Mrs. Claus, it would definitly be my Mother-in-Law! She is hilarious- and gets so much joy out of making Christmas something special for the kids to remember- they are very lucky little boys, let me tell you!
We spent the next day sorting and opening boxes upon boxes and digging out from the pile of paper, boxes and bows that suddenly made its way into our house! Oh what fun...the boys had a blast. This was the best part for them...getting to play with thier new treasures!
On the 29th, we realized our break was almost over, and we were determined not to have worked it away. We decided to spend part of the day out at Como Zoo. It was really cold, so we only saw the monkeys and the penguins. But inside, we saw a lot more. It was a bit busy- but still a great time!
And last but not least, we spent New Years Day with the kids at Chuck-E-Cheeses. It was an absolute blast. I have so much fun just hanging out with Jake and the kids. I think the kids might have had some fun too ;)
So, there you have it. A little glimps into our Christmas break. I know it is almost into the mid part of January...but I am a little short on time latley...so bear with me! I have some little video clips, but I will save those for a different day...it is almost midnight and I am going to watch a movie with my hubby!
Nighty night everyone :) Sorry for all the typos, but I am too tired to go back and spell check and typo check. So read it as best you can and realize that it is midnight and I am tired and that I really do know how to spell and use proper grammar. Thanks!
What a good post! And lots of great pictures! What lucky little boys you have! :)
