I called the police twice within 4 days!!!

That is crazy. The last time I called 911 was when I was maybe 5 years old and I was at my grandmas house. I read the numbers off the sticker she had by the phone...then I hung up on them when they answered. Then I really freaked out when they called back to my Grandma's house because when I answered they said,"This is the Bloomington Police Dept." (Waaaay before the days of caller ID!!!!) I thought I was going to jail for that...but what is a 5 year old supposed to think??? :)
Then on this past Saturday, I was driving back from a birthday party at my Grandma's (Is there a pattern here??) I got to a stop light and it was red. When it turned green, the two cars in the front of the pack in both lanes were going about 25 mph. Then out of nowhere, they tore off and were going about 80. I thought they were long gone till I got up the road about a mile and they were going about 30 again...on the highway. Then the car in front of me swerved really bad and I thought they were going in the ditch. So, by this time I had my cell phone in my hand going back and forth on if I should call or not. I got almost to my exit and they did it again. So I called. I dont know if they were drunk, or stupid little shits showing off for their prom dates or whatever. I was alone with my 3  little innocent (for now) kids in the car and this shouldnt be happening on the road...someone is gonna get hurt. So I got the lady one the phone and said I needed to give her a lic #. I got the first 3, and then the car took off so fast that I couldnt even see the plate anymore and I never saw it again. Hopefully they caught up with the crazy person though.

Now last night, I was sitting at the computer for a minute and I had the blinds down since it was dark and I hate feeling like people are watching me in my house. So then I see a bright flash outside my window. My first thought was. "Oh, I didnt know we were going to get storms tonight." Then it happened again. My next thought was "Oh my God, is something on fire on the porch???" So I opened the blinds. I was really scared of what I would see. In the street was a police car with all of its lights off except for the huge spotlight that they were shining into peoples yards. I freaked out and went into the garage to get Jake and tell him about it. When he looked the car was gone, and we thought that was the end of it. But it wasnt!! Pretty soon, I hear a helicopter outside. This isnt really a big deal because we live about a mile away from the hospital and we have heard the helicopter from that before. I totally jokingly said to Jake, "Oh, watch, they are searching for someone in our neighborhood with that helicopter." Why did I have to say that??? We looked out the back window and yep... there it was. Circling the hood with its big spotlight in all of our yards. Freaky. I was soooo scared. We have a pond flipped over upside down in the front yard so I was sure somone hid under it...but they didnt. I felt like whoever they were looking for was going to come into our house (if he wasnt there already) and take us hostage...that didnt happen either. Good thing my imagination is just over active!! :) But I did call the police station to see what was going on. I mean, you shine a light into my yard from the street and then there is a search helicotper out..I think I have a right to know who the heck was loose in the nighborhood and if I should get my kids out of the area!!  She obviously couldnt tell me much. Just that they are looking for a suspect by air, car and they are walking the area by foot too. Just stay inside she says. Yeah, like I am going to go hunt the guy down myself. What would I do. "Um, excuse me, sir? Those police are looking for you. I dont know if you know that or not. But cant you just be a good boy and do what you are supposed to do. If you did something wrong, you made a choice...now you have to deal with the consequenses of the choice you made."  REAL scary, huh??

I still have no idea what happened. Maybe its better that I dont know. I would never go outside alone again!

  1. Holy crap!!!  You have had a very eventful week!

We had some lady almost rear end us twice on Sunday...and finally realized she was probably a drunk driver.  But by the time we got the phone out she was long gone!  Crazy ass people!
